Tackling the Growing Global Food Crisis
This event took place on 28 November
Climate change is fuelling a global hunger crisis. Without urgent action, the world will not be able to adapt to the impacts of climate change and billions of people will go hungry.
Following the UK Food Security Summit and ahead of the start of COP28, this webinar was hosted by the Financial Times, in partnership with CGIAR, and explored how best to address the current food crisis and meet the demands of a changing climate, delivering solutions that will help the world achieve its ambitious climate targets while protecting those most affected by the growing food crisis.
Key Discussion Points
Genetic Innovation Technology
What is the best way to ensure that communities around the world have better access to nutritious foods and how might genetic innovation technology help?
Commitments for Climate Action
What needs to happen to mobilise global leaders, policymakers and stakeholders to translate global commitments for climate action and food systems transformation into tangible actions toward the SDGs?
